DISABLED PERSONS

Disabled persons who need a personal assistant due to their (proven) kind of condition only need one admission ticket for themselves - not for the personal assistant.
Wheelchair users can use the large wheelchair accessible ranks on the left side of the stage.

Change of location

The first Amphi Festival was located in the 'Amphitheather' in Gelsenkirchen.
There have been a lot of you asking us, why we did change the location:
The original location had that many disadvantages that we already decided for a different location before the second Amphi Festival.
The 'Amphitheater' only has ONE stage. This means, if you do not like a band you are forced to endure it no matter what, because there is no room for booth or other events.
There are not sufficient sanitary installations in the 'Amphitheater', only 'Dixies', mobile chemical toilets.
One is very dependent on the weather in the 'Amphitheater'. Because of its architecture heat and hot air cannot escape. During a hot summer weekend as at the Amphi 2006, the visitors would have collapsed one by one due to overheating and dehydration.
If it is raining the 'Amphitheater' offers you no place to go. There are no meadows to sit on, rest on or just chill-out cannot be found there either, only concrete stairs.
All of that is far better in the 'Tanzbrunnen'. On top of that there are a lot of additional features like the beautiful theatre (location for the wonderful aftershow parties), a 3.000 m² beach on the shores of the rhine river. This has been integrated into the event area earlier this year.
And for those of you who would like to visit the city center during, before or after the event will find in Cologne a much more attractive city than Gelsenkirchen. Another advantage is the great infrastructure and accessibility of Cologne (car, train, plane ...) that makes it all the more attractive for everyone.

GOTHIC-FAMILY.NET

Gothic-Family.Net loves the Amphi-Festival! Of course, we are back again this year with our huge info- and merchandise-booth, kids area (e.g. games corner, diaper changing) and diverse programs and the great family autograph sessions.
No other large scale event in this region is in respect to organisation and surroundings as suitable for kids. Here you can enjoy the festival and bring your kids with you - in a save distance from the stage, of course (Our booth has ear plugs as well). At the booth there you will find free gaming and painting opportunities for the kids again as well as temporary tattoos for every taste.
Adjacent to the GFN-booth a small playground and a large meadow can be found.

CHILDREN

The Amphi-Festival is a family friendly festival.
This is not only due to the amazing cooperation with Gothic-Family-Net but also because of the admission fees for kids.
While other festivals even want 7-year-olds to pay an admission fee or do not admit children at all , at our festival kids up to the age of 12 years can enter for free.
Of course they have to be accompanied by their at least one of their parents or a legal guardian.

PARKING LOTS

Due to immense reconstruction work last year the available parking lots were far away from the 'Tanzbrunnen'. This problem has gone by now. This year the 'Köln-Messe' even offers additional parking lots in close vicinity to the area. The 'Tanzbrunnen' is now easily accessible within a few minutes from the parking lots. Parking for our visitors is for free.

TOILETS

A lot of festival visitors have stated that there is no festival with better toilets than the Amphi. There are no temporary solutions to be found there.
We provide standard bathrooms and facilities in the adjacent buildings. These facilities offer wash-basins, mirrors, towels and everything else you need.
This year there are additional facilities available in the 'Rheinparkhallen' as well.
The access to the 'Rheinparkhallen' canbe found ca. 100 m left of the main stage in the vicinity to the paramedics. The facilities left to the ranks (right behind the wheelchair ranks) seems to be an insider tip for several of our visitors. All bathrooms and toilets will be featured in the new festival area map.
