Statement regarding cancellation of Front242

Totally by surprise and incomprehensible for us, we received the following cancellation note from the band Front242:[...]

“Front242 has decided not to perform in Europe after the 1st of May 2012 until further notice - The band needs a break.
Therefore, Front242 will NOT perform at Amphi Festival in Koln 2012 and Noctural Culture Night 2012 Festival in Deutzen. The promoters of those festivals are not responsible for this decision which is fully on Front242's behalf.”

We are sorry for this decision by Front242, especially as we know that many you would have liked to see the band´s performance at the Amphi Festival 2012.

Despite this bad news, let us look forward to the festival with pleasant anticipation. We are aware that the loss of Front242 will be hard to compensate musically, but we are already working on finding an adequate replacement!

Also we have CAMOUFLAGE, DAF, MONO INC., CORVUS CORAX, COPPELIUS, HAUJOBB, SEABOUND, TYSKE LUDDER and WHISPERS IN THE SHADOW, writing the first chapter of a multi-layered programme of gothic-, medieval- and electronic sounds.Following the Amphi Festival´s overwhelming success throughout the last years (it has been sold out for the third time by now), you can expect nothing less than a major summer extravaganza for 2012. The 8th Amphi Festival will again take place at the Tanzbrunnen Cologne on 21. & 22. July 2012.
