Parking/ Parking spacesWe put all current information on approach and parking spaces on this page.
Admission rules | Bags and backpacksTo secure a swift admission process we highly recommend all Amphi visitors to bring no bags or backpacks with them to the festivalground. If possible, please leave those items at home, your hotel room or your car at the parking space. (This also goes for "Call the Ship to Port".)
However, we are not going to introduce a total ban of bags and backpacks at the festivalground!
In case you can´t forgo your bag or backpack (like for photo equipment), expect more indepth checks and perhaps longer waits at the entrance.
In order to still keep admission as quick as possible, we invented the so-called "Luggage Lane" at the Tanzbrunnen's main entrance for visitors with bags. Please follow the local signage or the instructions of the security, who, on occasion, may ask you to take the "Luggage Lane" instead of the normal entrance.
As a simple rule for Amphi Festival goes:
Disabled persons / Wheelchair usersDisabled persons who need a personal assistant due to their condition (if marked in their disabled pass with a special entry / letter / symbol) only need one admission ticket for themselves - not for the personal assistant.
There is a large wheelchair stand to the (left) side of the Main Stage. In addition, there are further areas for wheelchair users at the theater (stage pit left) as well as on the MS RheinEnergie (in the center of the upper deck with a direct view of the stage). The ship features a lift to move between the decks.
The following regulation applies:
Main Stage & MS RheinEnergie:
Wheelchair users + escorts enjoy priority, guests with a rollator/assistive device (crutches) + escort may also be seated here, provided empty seats are available.
The area at the theater is exclusively reserved for wheelchair users and their escort.
Toilets for disabled persons are available!
Cash terminalA mobile EC-cash terminal is located directly at the festival ground (see map here).
Additionally an EC-cash terminal of „Sparkasse Köln-Bonn“ is located at the RTL mediahouse across the road. Walking from Tanzbrunnen, the terminal is in the hallway, halfway through the building on the left side.
SecurityIn the case of security relevant problems or violence please contact the security personnel. Please always follow the instructions of the security guards!

GastronomyThe entire catering for the Tanzbrunnen is run by the in-house catering service - the company Kölncongress Gastronomie GmbH - not by us the promoter. The Kölncongress Gastronomie GmbH does not allow to bring own food and drinks of any kind to the venue. Of course our festival guests (with day tickets, too) are allowed to leave the venue inbetween to eat or drink their own food outside. Therefor all visitors will recieva a wristband at the entrance. Kölncongress Gastronomie GmbH uses a deposit system for cups and bottles!
Aboard the MS RheinEnergie the gastronomical offer is being provided by Köln-Düsseldorfer Rheinschifffahrt AG. It is not allowed to bring your own food or drinks here either.
The gastronomy of both venues is not linked. Therefore we ask you to consume food and drinks at the place where you bought them.
Basically has been agreed: Please do not throw bottles/cups on the walkway betwen the venues. The other guests will be thankful for it.

Youth protectionThe German Civil Law Code (BGB) puts parents under the obligation to care for the well-being of their under-aged children (under 18 years of age). For children, under 16 years in particular, a music festival could cause immense physical and mental stress, so we cannot speak out a general recommendation for children to attend. Personal care regulations – under consideration of the German Youth Protection Law – leave the final decision to the parents, whether to allow their children to participate in public music events (including the journey to and the presence at the venue).
Unfortunately we noticed an increased number of even smallest children and babys in carriages being taken to the festival. Many parents already protect their children with noise protection or by keeping them in the back area of the venue but not all of them. Therfore we needed to adjust our admittance rules. Since 2014, the minimum age for children is set to 6 years or older. In the interest of your children we ask all parents who are affected by this measure for their understanding.
Children under 16 years of age may only attend public music events while they are accompanied either by their parents or an adult person, authorized by the parents in written form, to supervise their personal well-being at all times.
Children under 16 years of age may only attend public music events in company either of their parents or an adult person, authorized by the parents in written form, to supervise their personal well-being at all times.
Adolescents above 16 and under 18 years of age are allowed to attend music events on their own. However, they must leave the venue until 12pm at latest. Staying at the venue after 12pm again requires company by their parents or another adult person, authorized by the parents in written form, to supervise their personal well-being at all times.
The form for transferring the supervising authority can be found here, it has to be filled out completely and has to be signed by the parents themselves! The person, allowed to accompany and watch over the child, needs to have the form available at all times during the event and can be asked to prove her/his identity with a valid id-card! Adolescents above 16 years are also asked to keep their id-card/passport ready for an age check. Alongside these rules, regulating the attendance of the event, public restrictions concerning alcohol and tobacco-products need to be followed at any time. In case of a scrutiny we reserve the right to immediately remove smoking or drunken juveniles under 18 years of age from the venue.
Admission of children from 6 to 12 years of age
At our festival kids from the age of 6 years up to 12 years will be admitted for free. Of course they have to be accompanied by their at least one of their parents or a legal guardian.
